CPS is Seeking Professional Education Course & Program Developers

We are currently seeking to expand the offerings within our professional education portfolio.Ìý Do you have an idea for a course or program, aligned with workforce needs and skills, that you would like to develop for a new audience of working professionals? If so, we hope you will consider sharing your ideas and applying to be a course and/or program developer for the College of Professional Studies. If selected, course development could begin as soon as Summer 2025.
CPS welcomes proposals for new courses and programs from tenure-track and tenured faculty, continuing non-tenure-track faculty, and adjunct faculty.Ìý Courses/programs designed by a team of faculty are also welcome.Ìý
TYPES OF COURSES and PROGRAMS
Proposed topics from any discipline are welcome. We are particularly interested in specific skill development and timely topics from industry, or areas that complement our current portfolio.
PROCESS
Course and program proposals should be submitted electronically (as .pdf attachments) to the CPS Dean’s Office at: cpsdean@villanova.edu, per the following deadlines:Ìý April 1; August 1; December 1.
COMPENSATION
Faculty will receive $8,500 per individual course for development.Ìý
An additional $1,500 is available to seek supplemental support in recording lectures (i.e. guest speakers) or with writing assessments.Ìý
An additional $1,500 is available for program curricular development.

Faculty are encouraged to contact Christine Palus, Dean of the College of Professional Studies at christine.palus@villanova.edu to have a preliminary discussion around proposed topics or to discuss any questions.
SUBMISSIONS

FOR INDIVIDUAL COURSES:
A course title and description (1 paragraph).Ìý
A discussion of the target audience for the course (1 paragraph; please include relevant industry associations, if applicable).
3-5 draft learning objectives for the course.
A proposed list of 6-10 topics to be covered by the course.Ìý
Proposals in their entirety should not exceed two pages.Ìý
FOR A FULL PROGRAM:
The titles of three courses (with description (1 paragraph)) that could comprise the program.Ìý
A discussion of the target audience for the program (1 paragraph; please include relevant industry associations, if applicable).
3-5 draft learning objectives for each course in the program.Ìý
3-5 draft learning objectives for the program (comprised of the three courses).Ìý
A proposed list of 6-10 topics to be covered by each courseÌý
Proposals in their entirety should not exceed three pages.Ìý
If selected, CPS will work with faculty members and their respective chair/program director/deans to determine a timeline for course/program development.Ìý For full-time faculty, this work can be completed during the summer and/or as an overload during the academic year.
