Religion and Public Life Fellowship Program

TheÌýEleanor H. McCullen Center for Law, Religion and Public PolicyÌýand theÌýCenter for Political TheologyÌýare now accepting applications for their annual Summer Fellowship Program. ÃÛÌÒTV law students, graduate students and undergraduate students are invited to apply. The Centers will sponsor up toÌý10 student summer fellowshipsÌýat up toÌý$5,000 each.

The Summer Fellowship Program seeks to support student internship placements or research in the areas of religious freedom, interreligious dialogue, political theology, the role of religion in civil society, and the promotion of human dignity and the common good.

Students can apply for three different types of summer funding:

  1. Stipend support for summer internship placements with external organizations.
  2. Stipend support for independent research projects conducted under faculty supervision.
  3. Employment as a research assistant for a Villanova faculty member (with funding provided as an hourly wage according to University policy).

Students from any major or academic discipline are invited to apply. We welcome a broad spectrum of proposals related to interreligious dialogue, religious freedom, political theology and the intersection of law, religion and public policy.

The following application materials are required:

  • a resume or CV
  • a proposal that describes the nature of the internship or research project and its connections to the fellowship program's mission (approximately 500-1000 words)
  • an itemized budget detailing how funding will be spent with anticipated start and end dates

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and should be submitted through theÌý.ÌýFor priority consideration, the deadline for applications isÌýMarch 15, 2025. Applicants will be notified by April 4, 2025.Ìý
