POLICIES

The Office of Financial Assistance adheres to the following policies in the administration of the federal, state and university financial aid programs.

Students receiving financial assistance are required by Federal regulation to be making Satisfactory Academic Progress in order to continue to receive aid while enrolled at ÃÛÌÒTV.

In the administration of its student financial assistance programs ÃÛÌÒTV (VU) abides by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) Statement of Ethical Principles.  In addition, ÃÛÌÒTV has adopted a Code of Conduct for Financial Aid.

ÃÛÌÒTV’s Office of Financial Assistance must resolve conflicting information before awarding or disbursing any financial assistance.

If a student completely withdraws from the University and has utilized Federal Title IV funds (e.g. Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant [SEOG], Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan, Federal Direct PLUS Loan, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan), during the semester in which they withdraw, the University will observe the federally mandated process in determining what, if any amount of money must be returned to the federal program(s).

Verification is a requirement of the US Department of Education and is the process of confirming information submitted for consideration of the various Federal Title IV Funds including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, Federal Perkins Loan and Federal Direct Loans.
